Benjamin Resources

Hey friends! I can't stomach looking at a blank blogspace!

I gave a presentation on Walter Benjamin's "Work of Art in the Age of Mechanical Reproducibility" for EK's class and some have been curious about my secondary sources. So here is the book I used:

Koepnick, Lutz. Walter Benjamin and the Aesthetics of Power. U of Nebraska: Lincoln, 1999.

Also of relevance to our lively discussion on how to update Benjamin's notion of "aura" for contemporary economic, technological and aesthetic practice:

The Work of Art in the Age of Digital Reproduction, by Charles Alexander Moffat.

A book called "Mapping Benjamin: The Work of Art in the Digital Age"

See you at the colloquia!
